In Western Pennsylvania, if you want your child to learn to wrestle, you won’t have to look far to find someone who can teach them. It’s not unusual to find families that have devoted generations to the sport. There are coaches that have won championships at the state and national level. Others trained with Olympians like Kurt Angle or they competed internationally. Some coaches can rattle off names of wrestlers that they have trained since they were young that are now wrestling at Division One powerhouses like Penn State. Pride Wrestling Founder and Head Coach, Doug Joseph has accomplished all this and more. However, Doug’s most important accomplishments are the kind that can’t be measured. How can you measure the imprint that a coach leaves on the heart and soul of a young wrestler? Tapping into a child’s heart and intuitively speaking to them as an individual is Doug’s specialty.
